The journal has been promoted by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC) as a place of advanced research on the cinema. The CSC works on the creation of new movie generations, also trying to play a main role both in the national and international sphere. The editorial staff co-operates with academic professors, experts and young researchers working in several Italian universities, as the expression of different “schools” and research tendencies. Every year “Bianco e Nero” shows at the Mostra del Cinema di Venezia for movie fans.
