Abstract
The paper explores the relationship between forests and economic development. After stressing the need to recognize the non economic contributions of forests, it considers UNFF10 resolutions in light of the so-called 'international arrangement on forestry' and the ongoing climate change negotiations. Aspects related to the compatibility of forests activities and human rights are briefly profiled and the integration of forests into the post-2015 United Nations development agenda is finally addressed.
