Abstract

On March 3rd, 2015 the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court accepted the appeal promoted by some of the victims' legal representatives against the decision of the Trial Chamber, dated August 7th, 2012. This verdict can be unquestionably considered a landmark decision, from both a practical and a theoretical point of view. This paper offers some considerations on the way ICC Trust Fund for victims works (the Fund was implemented for the first time following on from the aforementioned decision) and on the notion and the "ratio" of victims' right to redress.
