Abstract

Zazie's three lives. Beginning with the analysis of the specific language used by Queneau in the 1959 novel Zazie dans le métro, the article focuses first on the comparison between the Italian translation by Franco Fortini and the Queneau's work, then between the Queneau's novel and the transcodification made by the director Louis Malle in 1960. It is the «potential nature» of the source which generates its various transformations. Accordingly, the analysis, showing the features of the potential literature, assumes also the existence of a specular potential cinema.
