Abstract
The article focuses on the original 1907 text where the author reconstructs the ideas, the vicissitudes and the relationships which led to the creation, at the beginning of the nineteenth century, Florence's Museum of Ethnography. Loria recounts the first steps of this initiative in detail, but also its problems, its forms of support and help, the initial composition of the museum's catalogue. The text is introduced by Sandra Puccini who frames the era and the intellectual figures mentioned by Loria in the text.
