Abstract

During the second half of the 30s, the Fascist regime built its colonial Empire not only thanks to its army but also by using propaganda strategies. Based on a heterogeneous corpus of images, this paper aims to analyse the cartographic paradigm as one of the narrative strategies of the huge visual production of Fascist propaganda. The paper will focus on the efficacy of the images in order to better describe the belief system of a certain culture, through an interdisciplinary approach which mainly deals with visual studies and semiotics.
