Abstract

Consisting of only eight notes, this brief Notebook has a rich posterity in the Marxist and Marxist-oriented historiography, from the 70's until today. Following the Gramscian text, the author undertakes the description of various interpretative lines offered since Hobsbawn, the first period of the Microstoria of Carlo Ginzburg, and the rich and complex input of Indian Subaltern Studies, as well as Said and his extension of «the Southern question». At the end of this enquiry it is the Gramscian text itself the re-emerges affected and transformed by the readings that it provokes.
