Abstract
Reference point and guarantor of Western sovereignties: this is the natural task that history has assigned to the United States and that the war between Russia and Ukraine is vehemently reaffirming today. The possibility of a new world balance is played out on the redefinition of the hegemonic role of the United States vis-à-vis its allies, but this geopolitical process is hindered by the self-referentiality of the players. The resulting disorder in duces a bitter reflection on our dramatic age and on the need to redefine the relationship between economy and politics on a global scale
