Abstract

After CERN's recent experiment in Geneva, some had prophesied that the infinitesimal black hole produced by the scientists' machine would swallow the world. At the same time the collapse of the financial market - which the author views as a particle accelerator - melted away savings worldwide. There is an even greater crisis behind the current financial collapse: an anthropological emergency that only culture - the diffusion of knowledge and values - can solve. We need Masters to spread culture. Will we be able to recognize them?
