Abstract
This is the message delivered by the President of the United States during the budget presentation at Congress with the financial crisis in full swing. This crisis, declares President Obama, is the result of an era of profound irresponsibility that engulfed both private and public institutions from some of America's largest companies' executive suites to the seats of power in Washington. Barack Obama describes the extent of the crisis inherited and the steps taken to jumpstart the economy. The President ends his message declaring that America has the resources and capacity to restore opportunity and prosperity: America's greatest days are not behind it.
