Abstract
What are summit meetings for? At least 40 meetings between ministers or prime ministers have been held since the breakout of the financial crisis last November. The agenda was the same: saving the world from the financial downturn. International, European, bilateral, trilateral, G7, G8 and G20 meetings have always ended with alarming declarations and statements of cooperation from the countries willing to act, and very few decisions able to curb the crisis and recession.
