Abstract
The British economy is facing unprecedented dangers, in large part due to the collapse of two massive Scottish banks, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Halifax Bank of Scotland. On February 11th, the bankers responsible were called into the House of Commons to apologise for their failures and to explain what happened. But will the British people be satisfied by this attempt to say "sorry"?
