Abstract

This article provides an update on the status of climate fi nance, commenting on the relevant outcome of the recent UNFCCC meeting in Durban, and illustrating the latest research fi ndings on current barriers and future prospects of climate fi nance. Private-public partnership, innovative fi nancial instruments, bilateral approaches, and a more balanced focus between mitigation vs adaptation, appear to be crucial to mobilize the fi nancial resources currently needed to face the climate challenge.
