Historians, whether scholars of economic history or of the oral and written culture, are first and foremost social scientists, even when they affirm they record an aseptic and distant timeline of historical events. Every chronology implies a philosophy of history. This is the question: what is the philosophy of history underlies the relationship between historiography and social sciences?
