Abstract

An increasing number of women is migrating from Eastern Europe, Asia or Africa. Some migrate to find a job in Europe, others are fleeing from conflicts in countries such as Syria and Iraq. In transition areas such as the Balkans, and in hosting countries, we find women who will be the promoters of social change. Viewing society from a gender perspective allows us to observe how individual growth, change and new relationships can lead to a new social structure.
