Abstract
More than one of seven billion inhabitants of the Earth are moving within their country of origin or crossing borders due to poverty, conflicts, population boom, climate change and natural hazards. Around 181,000 migrants and asylum seekers landed on the Italian coasts in 2016. Migration requires adequate and flexible national and European policies. The article summarizes the proposals of the Italian Radical Party on this topic. The main points were presented by Ms. Emma Bonino on the occasion of the international conference on «Climate-induced Migration» organized by FEEM.
