Abstract
The article discusses recent contributions on different aspects of epidemics and interventions of public institutions on health throughout history by G. Agamben, F. Snowden, J. Barona, J. Webb, C. Holmberg, S. Blume, P. Greenough. It places these contributions within the debate on biopolitics and analyses the way this concept has been used. It examines how these new historical additions contribute to a better understanding of contemporary pandemic.
