Abstract
Capitalism produced impressive material progress, but also suffers from three major faults: it is inequitable, unstable, and pollutant. Is capitalism - as a mode of production - to be saved? From a technical point of view, yes this is possible; but are we politically ready to solve the Economic Problem? The answer is to be found in Keynes and Marx, in Leontief and Georgescu-Roegen - and in Walter Benjamin.
