Abstract
The Centre-left in Sicily induced a deep divide among the traditional political forces. It characterised the history of Sicily and Italy in the Sixties, revitalizing the adjustment and resizing processes both inside and outside the parties and alliances. The governments headed by Giuseppe D’Angelo, a member of the Christian Democratic party, are marked by the reform proposals of the regional administrative bureaucracy and by the first parliamentary initiatives against Cosa nostra
