Abstract

The article focuses on how economic thought is presented in the papers of Italian economists as well as in the biographical tale of many of its authors. The “dramaticµ narrative tone best expresses the difficulties faced by Italian economists in formulating their ideas on the characteristics of their society, both before and after political unification. This essay aims to give colour to a story very far from the reflection of serene scholars in the shadow of a quiet library.
