Abstract
The essay analyses the topic of majesty in Sicilian Norman legislation, rereading it in a comparative perspective with the contemporary sources of the English Norman Kingdom. The comparison points out the use of a common lexicon of the concept of potestas. It can’t be ascribed only to Sicilian kings but, on the contrary, circulated in Europe before the foundation of the same Norman Regna.
