Abstract
The opinion of the Supreme Court of the United States about causing or aiding a suicide is exposed, and compared with the document presented to the Court by seven moral philosophers as "amici curiae". In particular the interest of the State in the protection of life and the right to determine the time and manner of one's death are discussed.
