Abstract
Luigi Marino (1939-2000) was Professor of History of philosophy at the University of Turin and a long time contributor to the "Rivista di filosofia". He specialized in German thought from the 18th to the 20th century. His most important work, "I maestri della Germania. Göttingen 1770-1820" - translated into German in 1995 - offers a magisterially documented reconstruction of the cultural environment of both Göttingen and Northern Germany. He also authored a number of remarkable essays on Hegel and "Goethezeit" aesthetics.
