Abstract
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has contributed to an individualistic radicalization of the idea of freedom and to an intensification of the hegemony of the liberal paradigm on protest and on social and political criticism. The outcome was the exasperation of a paradox: on the one hand, the pandemic makes the need for change dramatically more urgent, for a turning point in the direction of awareness of being in common; on the other hand, it does not change the framework of emotional and sense resources available to make this change, it does not trigger any counter-movement. Indeed, it seems to be the occasion in which an idea of freedom that moves in exactly the opposite direction gains space
