Abstract
In this essay, preceded by an Introductory notice in which Stefano Petrucciani highlights its philosophical and cultural significance, Cesare Luporini (1909-1993) deals with the concept of emancipation and the role of the working classes in the revolutionary process. He particularly focuses on the evolution of the notion of State in Marx's "oeuvre": its decline in a totalitarian structure; the contradiction between economy and individual life processes; the relevance of the Marxian political legacy today.
