Abstract
This article deals with the particular relationship with reality proposed in recent years by some Italian films that cannot properly be classified as either fiction films or as documentaries. Increasingly, Italian contemporary cinema makes territories, locations, and movements of the characters in the space the protagonists of its stories: from such a perspective, Gianfranco Rosi's "Sacro GRA" and "Fuocoammare" are discussed as examples. Finally, the concept of immanence, suggested by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari in their geophilosophy, is used as a key to reflect on the cinema that explores the territory following the encounters and the causal paths.
