Abstract
The A. discusses the function and scope of social rights from a labour law point of view. The feature and enforceability of social rights are first analysed in the light of the effects of their recognition by the Italian Constitution. Then the A. focuses on the structure of social security rights as a result of the dialogue between scholars and high courts. Finally the A. suggests some conclusion on the future of social rights taking into consideration the political theory and the effects the European economic governance.
