Abstract
The author tests the concept of "globalization" within the economic literature, thus repelling any vague or approximate usage. Assuming that our present world is characterised by a transfer of power from national governments to private administrations, the essay traces the historical reasons of this transfer. After a brief survey of international economy and management analyses, the author concludes that a link has been created between the changes in financial markets and companies organisation/strategies, occurred in the last twenty years as a consequence of the turbulent modification of the world labour force, and the changes in national government competition, thus creating a re-organisation of planetary power mainly in hands of financial forces. The effects of this "turbulence" would suggest that the globalization effect are uncertain and do not allow forecast a new international order.
