Abstract
We are publishing posthumously the last text written by Maurizio Fioravanti, a distinguished Italian scholar of the history of law who died in 2022. In this text, Fioravanti reflects upon the failed debate between Norberto Bobbio and Nicola Matteucci regarding the challenging relationship between the State and the Constitution
