Abstract
Taking into account a short but meaningful essay of the German jurist, "The Tyrannyof Values" (1960), the essay criticizes the common temptation of demonizing Carl Schmitt. In this perspective, the Author analyzes the internal meaning of Schmitt's critique of the philosophy of values, by referring it to the Italian juridical and philosophical debate of the post-war period.
