Abstract
The essay questions the idea that the myth is to be aroused. According to Benjamin, myth is a dimension in which we are always already immersed; only by a fragment of ethics we can stop it. The approach to it can only be allegorical. Myth is destiny, that is, the context of guilt extraneous both to happiness and redemption. It does not concern religion but rather law, which is understood as a pattern of charges. Capitalism is a form of myth as naturalized history and force of debt.
