Abstract

The article analyses the political quality of the Marsilian notion of "valencior pars" as a clear answer to the civil struggles between factions. The fundamental idea of a "reprae¬sentatio identitatis" shows that the "valencior pars" realizes the corporate unity of the peo¬ple. However, the factions struggles for the "officia" open the way to the papalist design of a "dominium" against the good of the whole.
