Abstract

The essay analyses Hegel's conception of normativity and of law, stressing both the primary role that this conception plays in the construction of the objective spirit, and the topicality of his understanding of ethics in contemporary legal and political philosophy, particularly for the debates about the relation between subjective rights and duties, and between law and morality.
