Abstract
This article is a bibliographic survey in the field of gender studies in Antiquity. It investigates the different approaches and methodologies of several scholars who studied the political character of the language of the Attic tragedy focusing on the representation of gender. The aim is to retrace, within this archive, an interpretative pattern that calls into question the way in which the representation of the female characters and their speeches have been traditionally understood by the political theory.
