Abstract

Very good annotated editions of Primi Poemetti and of Canti di Castelvecchio already exist. However, there still is a good number of lines whose literal meaning deserves closer examination, in order to eliminate inaccuracies and gaps that often lead to quite superficial or even mistaken interpretations. This paper gives some hints on how this gap can be filled and at the same time shows, better than ever before, how much Barga's and Romagna's dialectal elements are present in Pascoli's poetry.
