Abstract
In addition to two major theoretical works written in his own hand in the vernacular by Piero della Francesca (the Trattato d'abaco, ms Med. Laur. Ashburnham 280, in Florence, and De prospectiva pingendi, ms Pal. 1576, in Parma), we really need to take account of other autographs for a more careful analysis of his writing habits and language. The aim of the paper is to propose in a new edition (which amends the previous ones) and analyze in the perspective of linguistic history some short practical-documentary writings by the great painter and Renaissance perspective theorist.
