Abstract
The essay concerns the handwritten marginal notes that Bruno Migliorini wrote into his copies of the Zingarelli and Cappuccini vocabularies while he was working on the revision of the Cappuccini vocabulary from 1934 to 1945. These notes let us follow Migliorini's considerations on new Italian words, as one of the first scholars of contemporary Italian. This essay is also a re-evaluation of the lexicography used in schools, analysed in its Vocabularies from the 19th to the 20th century.
