Abstract
In 1618 a woman was found murdered in her room and a note was discovered near her body, on the bed, most likely her husband's confession. Thanks to the contemporary report, together with the attached note, it is possible to reconstruct the events. The edition and the commentary of the short text highlight the characteristics of the language used by a semi-literate writer, contributing to the study of the writing of non-literary Italian language at the beginning of the 17th century.
