Abstract

This essay offers some pointers towards a reassessment of the English poetry of St. Thomas More, a production which is generally but unjustly considered as less important than his other literary works. This re-evaluation has been inspired by the reviewing of the first Italian unabridged edition of the English poems by More (Poesie inglesi), a book edited by Carlo M. Bajetta.
