Abstract
The essay argues and discusses the influence of Čechov's theater on Vittorio Sereni's poetry, in particular in Strumenti umani. Clear direct connections; together with deeper and more interesting affinities emerge between their stylistic and conceptual «systems». This work represents an innovative contribution to the knowledge of the great Italian poet's production.
