Abstract
The essay tries to clarify the relationship between two stages in Luka´cs's career as an essayist and a critic, from his metaphysics in the early 1900's, deeply influenced by Kierkegaard and German neo-Kantian philosophy, to the adhesion to Soviet Marxism. The essay focuses the continuity of some aspects of his theory of theatre and novel.
