Abstract

The essay analyzes Eugenio Montale's Satura. According to a comparative reading of the first and second montalian writing season, Borio uses Montale's definition «inclusive poetry» to point out Satura's Poetics, that is called «inclusive representation» by the essayist and describes a postmodern condition. From this point of view Satura's theatrical estrangement, quotations, movements from a lyric/narrative to an argumentative/reasoning speech, help to define the function of the book as one of the most important collections to study Italian poetry evolution from 60th to 70th.
