Abstract
Through the analysis of two keyworks of Luigi Dallapiccola - the Cinque Canti (1956) and Ulisse (1968) - this article demonstrates how the references to the classical world are deeply interwound with the religious sentiment of the composer. In these two compositions the research of symmetry reveals the desire of Dallapiccola to include the pagan tradition into a Christian frame, following Dante's model.
