Abstract

I have decided to entitle my speech in honour of Domenico Parisi, “The challenge of dialogue for individuals and disciplinesµ because I think that the word ‘dialogue’ is the one that, more than others, represents not only my experience with Domenico but also, from what I got to know, one of his defining traits. Domenico was a bridge builder. And bridge-builders must know the two shores inside out, even when the shores do not even know they are opposite. This paper is a short recollection of how my interactions and friendship with Domenico traversed several research areas united by the solid bridges Domenico has always mastered.
