Abstract
Science and technology parks (Stps) experience has a story of some fifty years. Most of the literature has analysed the Stps from an economic viewpoint, assessing their performance as catalysts of sciencetechnology- economy relations. However, many parks are actually realestate projects, branded and effectively marketed as Stps. Starting from the concept of "infrastructure" - as defined and conceptualised in Science and technology studies (Sts) - this article is devoted to shift the theoretical framework, suggesting to look at the park as «connective infrastructure ». "Convergence" is an important feature of infrastructure and it affects its development. Drawing from a qualitative research on six casestudies, the analysis aims to shed light on the ecology of Italian Science and technology parks. Final discussion leads to understand how Stps could develop as connective infrastructures in Italy.
