Abstract
The article reviews recent contributions to the literature on gender, politics and public policy and it finds a rich collection of research, conducted especially in the Anglo-Saxon countries. The aim of the article is to present the theoretical contributions and the empirical findings, which make an important contribution to comparative politics, and may open a discussion about the state of the art of the Italian political science in dealing with gender issues.
