Abstract
Technology transfer, cooperation between companies, collaboration between companies and with other local entities are among the industrial innovation policies implemented at multiple levels. This article presents the results of the counterfactual evaluation carried out to estimate the effects on business performance for firms’ participation in the Innovation Poles located in Piedmont. The results suggest positive effects for the affiliated companies, especially on turnover (equal to 6.2 per cent on average over three years), suggesting the potential of this initiative in the portfolio of policies for competitiveness and local economic development
