Abstract
The take-off of competion in italian skys is delayed. The article tells the story of the airline AirOne showing that, after a harsh struggle at the beginning, the beneficial effects of competition on prices seem to have disappeared. This is partly due to Alitalia's (the incumbent) aggressive behaviour and to the weaknesses of the regulators. But the other countries Europe, with the exception of the UK, are not pressed to liberalise their air transports.
