Abstract
The title of the conference refers to the two key words that the relations have come to revolve around: crisis and regulation. The Global Financial Crisis represented a dramatic discontinuity in the evolution of the main economic and financial systems which met a strong response by the regulatory authorities. In few years we have witnessed impressive transformations in the institutional, regulatory framework at international level: a Global Regulatory Reform according to IMF definition. This reform is still in progress and many are the missing pieces in the new regulatory architecture. The conference helps to clarify the aims and the blanks of the reform project and, at the same time, points to the economic impact of stricter and discretionary rules on banks’ activity.
