Abstract
This essay focuses on the contribution of Italian child savers to the development of juvenile justice, through the reconstruction of their advocacy for a Children’s Code, which was the highest expression of their struggles. Specifically, I will discuss the Royal Commission on Juvenile Delinquency’s efforts to implement the reform, considering the experience of two women who were board members: Ersilia Majno and Lucy Bartlett. This approach will also enable me to shed new light on the intersection between feminist emancipationist engagement for women and children and new professions and forms of state control established at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries
